A Happy New year to all. The sky is white with falling snow, the   temperature is 23 degrees. It sure feels better than the minus      we've been having. It seems as though most everyone has had  “cooler than normal” temperatures. We’ll appreciate the warmer  weather again.

Galen and Rachel’s wedding on January 3rd happened at last.  It was a cold day, but a nice wedding. There were 145 people,  not counting the babies. An appetizer on a small plate was served  first, consisting of 3 carrot sticks, 2 celery sticks, a cherry tomato,  3  homemade crackers, a ball of cream cheese type of cheese and a piece of Prairie breeze cheese. The main menu was homemade crescent rolls, meat balls with gravy, mashed potatoes, peas & carrots & jelled pineapple rings. Dessert was blueberries, cherries and raspberries thickened, and chocolate mousse cake. Rachel made the cakes at home, brought them here frozen, then put the toppings on a couple days before the wedding. She had green leaves made of gummy something, fresh blueberries coated in sugar (made them look frosty), a sprig of red currants and 2 chocolate hearts sticking in up-right. They looked beautiful. (and I forgot to take a picture of them!)The cakes were passed whole, each person cut their own piece. Favors to take home were a little jar of creamed honey (Rachel’s Dad has 600+ beehives) and a small square of homemade soap with a wrapper around saying “Galen & Rachel”    “How beautiful is the day touched with love.” Rachel’s family prepared the meal, doing some in Canada and some here.
